If You Receive a Low Offer, Maybe the Buyer’s Not Qualified

If you get a low offer, what do you do? Negotiate! It could be a low offer to get negotiations started…or it might be that the buyer can’t afford your home. What do you do in each scenario? Learn how to handle a low offer in this video, “If You Receive a Low Offer, Maybe the Buyer’s Not Qualified”:

What Do You Do When You Get a Low Offer?

If you get a low offer on your home, you have the option to negotiate! There are some things to be cautious of when you receive a low offer, and one of them is to make sure that the buyer can afford your home, or in other words, to make sure that the buyer is qualified to carry a mortgage for your home.

Sometimes a buyer can only afford the amount that they offer, even if it’s a low offer for your home price. Get your real estate agent to ask the buyer’s agent how their buyers arrived at that figure. Was it because they compared home values in your area to your home, or is the offer the highest amount the buyer can afford?

If the buyer can’t actually afford your home, then don’t waste any time! Move on to the next buyer and wait for those who can afford to put in an offer on your home. Have more questions about this situation? Ask your real estate agent! Make sure your realtor has the knowledge and expertise to help you in situations like this.
