How Do You Get Your Home Ready for the Photographer?
If you read the last blog on the process of getting your home on the market (if not, read it here: What is the process of getting your home on the market? ), then your home will be clean, decluttered, and ready for potential buyers! Now it’s time to get professional photos done.
So what do you need to do to get ready for the photographer? Your house being clean is the number one thing, after that, make sure the blinds are open so that plenty of light is shining through your home, all of the lights in your home are on (and the fans are off) – be sure to replace any dim or burnt out light bulbs, and make sure that everything is put away for the photographer (this includes any cleaning supplies, or items that aren’t included in staging).
If you have any pets (inside or outside!), make sure to put them away before the photographer gets to your home. Double check that everything in your home is ready for photos not only inside, but outside too! A lot of people ask if they should be home when the photographer is there. Not necessarily, as professional photographers know what they’re doing. As long as the home has all of the lights on and blinds open (and the house is clean with no pets running around), the professional photographer can move quickly and get photos done so that you can return.
So there you have it! Once the prep work is done, your home will only need a few things done in order to get ready for your listing photos.
