What Should You Check Before Signing a Contract?

Receiving an offer on your home is exciting! When you receive an offer on your home, get with your real estate agent and make sure the contract is complete before you sign it. Doing this will help you avoid problems. Ensure all terms, costs, and responsibilities are spelled out in the contract. 

The contract should include:

  • Date it was made
  • Names of parties
  • Address of property
  • Purchase Price
  • Where deposit money is held
  • Date for the loan approval
  • Date and place of closing 
  • Type of deed
  • Include any contingencies that remain to be settled
  • Any personal property included in the sell

Be sure that the contract is filled out in its entirety before you sign or start negotiating the offer.
