Why Do You Need a Home Inspection?

When you’re buying a home, do you really need a home inspection? The answer is YES! Let’s talk find out why in this video, “Why Do You Need a Home Inspection?”:

Home inspections are a big deal and you do not want to skip out on having this done! Even if you’re buying new construction, it’s to your advantage to have a home inspection. Remember, the builder’s real estate agent works for them, not you! So have your own real estate agent by your side to make sure you get taken care of.

What is Important in a Home Inspection?

A home inspection gives you, as a buyer, the opportunity to check out the home from top to bottom. You’ll hire an expert to conduct the home inspection for you and this expert will be inspecting every part of the home and giving you a detailed list of the results.

The home inspector will check every electrical plug, the wiring in the home, the plumbing, the roof, inspect the basement, and thoroughly inspect every part of the home. Once the inspection is done, you will receive a report from the home inspector and you will know the exact condition that the home is in.

Once you receive the home inspection report, depending on the results, you could do a couple of different things. You may ask the seller to take care of repairs needed, a price reduction, or something else in order to keep moving forward (or you may take care of the repairs needed yourself, your real estate agent can guide you on this). Or, after you get the home inspection report back, it may uncover some things that make you want to walk away from the home.

If there is something wrong with the home and you decide that you no longer want to purchase the home, you just saved yourself a lot of heartache in the future! You can walk away and keep looking for your dream home.

So all in all, home inspections are a big deal, and they are not something you want to pass up on when you buy a home.
